Congratulations to Britton Rogers and Derek Byron for their winning entry in the Grand Acres design competition.

Architecture for Humanity is a global network of design professionals who offer nonprofit design services for a variety of groups in need. Clients include community groups, housing developers, aid organizations and government agencies.

Originally founded in 1999 by architect Cameron Sinclair and journalist Kate Stohr, Architecture for Humanity has now expanded into over 80 chapters across the globe. Currently the organization is working in a dozen countries on projects ranging from health centers in Sub-Saharan Africa, community centers in Southeast Asia to low-income housing on the Gulf Coast of the United States. In 2007 Architecture for Humanity launched the Open Architecture Network, the worlds' first online community dedicated to improving living conditions through innovative and sustainable design. It is estimated that, each year, 50,000 people benefit from structures and services provided by Architecture for Humanity. Inspired by the success of the Architecture for Humanity organization, several local architects came together in May 2009 to form the New Haven chapter. The group seeks to bring design services to communities in need, both locally and abroad.
